The shocking response to the Lindsay Clancy trial
Lindsay Clancy, a former Massachusetts labor-and-delivery nurse, is on trial for the January 2023 murders of her three young children.
While her then-husband Patrick was briefly out of the house, she killed the children in the family’s home and then attempted to take her own life. Patrick returned to discover the tragedy and made a heartbreaking 911 call.
Clancy does not deny what happened. Her defense argues she was suffering from severe postpartum psychosis (along with other mental disorders) and is therefore not criminally responsible. Prosecutors maintain that she acted intentionally.
Timeless Truth
The response to this trial has been pure evil. Many women have flooded tik tok with videos of themselves holding their kids and saying “same, Lindsay.”
That’s incredibly disturbing but this is where an over-diagnosed and abortion-crazed world will get you (Proverbs 17:15 & Isaiah 5:20).
Obviously Postpartum depression and other diagnoses are real (there’s no reason to debate that) but the fact that many have trivialized and dismissed the murder of Lindsay’s children because of her mental illnesses is absurd.
Abortion laws in our nation have hollowed out the way that many women see children. They’re not a valuable life but an inconvenience that can be terminated (Psalm 127:3).
The end goal of abortion is not to fix anything but to degrade the most vulnerable in our society - children (Matthew 18:6).
The Lindsay Clancy case has shown all too well that the pro-choice movement has had great success in trivializing and dehumanizing the lives of children and now the internet is flooded with mom’s sympathizing with the woman who murdered her three children (1 John 3:15).
The Bible gives no room to dismiss evil in any way, shape, or form. People have to take responsibility for their actions (Romans 14:12).
Yes, there is forgiveness and salvation available for Lindsay and I really hope she comes to know that, but she must answer to the authorities which God has appointed to punish evil. She has to answer and take punishment for what she’s done, to advocate for anything else is un-Christian.

In Nehemiah 4, the construction of the wall around Jerusalem has begun and the evil kingdoms around Jerusalem are plotting to stop the rebuilding of the wall. So, the wore their weapons and set up guards so that the construction of the wall would continue.
But in verse 14, Nehemiah tells them why they are to fight against the enemy: “remember the Lord who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives and your houses.”
They weren’t fighting or rebuilding for themselves, they were doing these things for those around them and for those that would come after them. They were fighting to build and preserve what the Lord was doing.
This is what we fight for in the Kingdom. We are contending for the faith for our own personal gain but for the gain of those around us and for those that come after us. It’s never just about us.

Final Exhortation
Although we live in a world that measures worth by how well we perform, that is not the way that God operates. Psalm 139:17-18 says “How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you.”
Father, I thank you for this week. I ask, Lord, that you would remind the reader of how much you care for them. I thank you, Lord, for your provision in each and every season. Lord, lead, guide, and direct the reader in the path of your righteousness. In Jesus’ name, amen.
